Archival Collections:

The Daughters of Charity Archives of the Northeast Province collects records pertaining to the activities of the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent De Paul in the Northeastern United States and Canada. The collection spans the history of the Daughters in the United States and Canada from the nineteenth-century through the present. In addition the archives contains collections of materials relating to the history of the Daughters of Charity worldwide, including the foundation of the community in seventeenth-century France.

The Daughters of Charity have been involved in providing health care, social services and education to underprivileged members of society throughout the world. The collections in the Archives of the Northeast Province include the administrative records of several large hospitals, numerous orphanages, schools, and innovative social service programs. These records provide valuable insights into the history of religious communities, medicine, social welfare institutions, education and the history of local communities served by the Daughters of Charity.

The records must be used on-site in the research room but researchers are welcome to make photocopies or other reproductions for research purposes.
