DePaul Provincial House

The local community is the primary place of belonging for the Daughters of Charity.
Community living fosters among them a sharing that extends not only to material conditions
but also to spiritual and apostolic commitments.
In dialogue experiences are shared, differences are minimized
and decisions are sought together
.

Does it look like a crowd of Daughters living at DePaul Provincial House? Well there are even more than pictured here. The Provincial House is in a sense the “home base” of the province. All the sisters have a key to the front door of this, their home, and all are welcome at any time. The sisters living here full time are involved in the administration of the Province, the maintenance of the archives, and hospitality to our sisters and friends who may come to visit. Some sisters live here and work in the Albany/Troy area: Sr. Mary Jane is a social worker at a mental health clinic (part of the Seton Health System), Sr. Mavis works at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, Sr. Nora at the Roarke Center in Troy, and Sr. Dorothy at St. Catherine’s Center for Children in Albany.
