Visitors and patients at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY (part of the Seton Health System) often comment that it is nice to see a Sister in a Catholic Hospital. That presence s part of teh role of teh local community of Daughters of Charity in Troy. Sisters Carmelite, Alexis, Mary, Catherine and Eileen can be found in the hospital daily. Sisters Pat and Mary Madeline can be found ministering to the retired and ill Daughters of Charity at St. Louise House in Albany. Sister Florence Joseph works at two parishes in Troy: St. Paul’s and St. Peter’s; but, she also come to St. Louise house regularly to offer foot reflexology to the sisters.
