The Daughters of Charity are an international community, founded by Louise de Marillac and Vincent de Paul in the seventeenth century. There are approximately 23,000 Daughters of Charity from all over the world and you will find them wherever there is human suffering.
The Superioress General, Sister Evelyne Franc, a French woman, is assisted by a General Council of eight other Daughters of Charity who represent the major languages and nationalities which make up the Company.
Each Province has a leadership team as well. The Provincial is entrusted with the mission to promote the spiritual and apostolic vitality of the Province. She is assisted by a Council as well as by a Secretary and Treasurer. Each Province also has a Provincial Director, a Vincentian priest who collaborates with the group.
The Northeast Province of the Daughters of Charity is located in Albany, New York at DePaul Provincial House. The present leadership team pictured here includes:
