The local community is the primary place of belonging for the Daughters of Charity.
Community living fosters among them a sharing that extends not only to material conditions
but also to spiritual and apostolic commitments.
In dialogue experiences are shared, differences are minimized
and decisions are sought together

In the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia there is a community of six Daughters of Charity and one pre-postulant: Sr. Margaret, Sr. Pat E., Sr. Pat B., Sr. Cheryl, Sr. Chris, Sr. Nancy and Megan. These sisters are involved in a variety of ministries in collaboration with the Vincentian Priests in Philly. Sisters Cheryl and Nancy administer St. Martin DePorres Interparochial School, Sr. Chris is part of the Hispanic Evangelisation Team, Sr. Pat B. works at Ghebre Michael Inn, Sr. Margaret works with the Vincentian priests at St. Vincent’s Seminary, and Sr. Pat E works at St. Vincent de Paul Center for Youth and Young Adults.  Megan came to live with the sisters as a pre-postulant in September and teaches at St. Christopher’s School
