Constitutions of the Daughters of Charity

The Daughters of Charity established a local community at Saint John’s Parish Center in Brooklyn over 30 years ago to begin a collaborative project with the Vincentian priests on the original site of St. John’s University. Today St. John’s Parish Center is an active place of worship for Hispanic and Anglo Catholics which provides a variety of outreach services to the local community including adult education, religious education, thrift shop, a soup kitchen, a mobile soup van, youth groups, spiritual direction … Eleven Daughters of Charity live and pray and work together here. In September Rajendra joined this community as a pre-postulant. Many groups of college students come to St. John’s throughout the year for service projects and live-in experiences.
