How You Can Help
The Daughters of Charity are a Society of Apostolic Life whose mission is to care for those most abandoned. There are Daughters of Charity all over the world continuing to give witness to St. Vincent's prophetic words, "We should assist the poor in every way and do it both by ourselves and by enlisting the help of others. To do this is to preach the gospel by works and by word." (St. Vincent: December, 1658)
With your prayer, support, and financial assistance, the Daughters of Charity are able to respond to the needs of persons who are poor.
How can you help? We invite you to participate with us in whatever way you may be able.
First of all, you could share your prayer. We would welcome your prayers for the Sisters and the people they care for. Human suffering knows no boundaries, and prayer of behalf of those who suffer will not go unheeded. We invite you to lift up to God the needs of those whom the Daughters of Charity have the privilege of serving.
You could share your time and talent by volunteering. Contact Sister Mary Frate at 518-462-6430, srmarydc@yahoo.com or check out the following list of houses withing the Province (Province Map and house list). Sister Anne Marie can put you in touch with Sisters who may be close to your home.
You could make a contribution. An unrestricted gift allows us to meet the most pressing needs. Many of our Sisters work in places where the greatest challenge is funding. Donations may be made to the Ministry Fund which will insure the future of our ministries. You may also make a contribution to our Sisters' Retirement Fund which provides care for Daughters of Charity who have spent their lives in the selfless and caring service of the poor. You may send your gift to the Daughters of Charity, 96 Menands Road, Albany, NY 12204. You may be sure we will remember your generosity in our daily prayer.
We are grateful for your support!
